Homemade Chili

Let’s cook a homemade chili in our Multipot. This is a flavorful recipe with a perfect balance between lusciousness and heat.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 diced onion
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 minced jalapeno
  • 4 minced small carrots
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can fire roasted crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans beans, rinsed and drained (we are using pinto beans)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Fry the bacon pieces until crispy on a fry pan and set them aside. Pour off most of the bacon fat, but keep 2 tablespoons.
  • Mix the onion, garlic, jalapeno, and carrots on the pan with the bacon fat. Sauté until soft.
  • Add the ground beef and sautéed mixture to the multipot until beef is cooked through. Make sure it is moist and not dried out, if dried add some broth.
  • Add the tomato paste. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, beans, broth, and bacon. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and let simmer for 30-40 minutes, while stirring.
  • Top with your favorite toppings. We used cheddar cheese, green onions and sour cream!
