Homemade Chili
Let’s cook a homemade chili in our Multipot. This is a flavorful recipe with a perfect balance between lusciousness and heat.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 6 slices bacon, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 diced onion
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1 minced jalapeno
- 4 minced small carrots
- 2 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoon cumin
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 can fire roasted crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans beans, rinsed and drained (we are using pinto beans)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Fry the bacon pieces until crispy on a fry pan and set them aside. Pour off most of the bacon fat, but keep 2 tablespoons.
- Mix the onion, garlic, jalapeno, and carrots on the pan with the bacon fat. Sauté until soft.
- Add the ground beef and sautéed mixture to the multipot until beef is cooked through. Make sure it is moist and not dried out, if dried add some broth.
- Add the tomato paste. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, beans, broth, and bacon. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and let simmer for 30-40 minutes, while stirring.
- Top with your favorite toppings. We used cheddar cheese, green onions and sour cream!
