Home-made rice cakes are a delicious snack to prepare in just 7 minutes with your Arepa Maker. No longer are you munching on those Styrofoam textured store bought cakes.
Watch us make ours or scroll down for step by step instructions.
Begin by gathering your ingredients. You’ll also need a large mixing bowl, your silicone spatula, and arepa maker.
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
In a large mixing bowl mix together your ingredients. Then place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. This is just so that it binds the ingredients better together to make your life easier!
Once you pull the bowl out of the refrigerator, plug in your Arepa Maker to allow it to pre-heat. Then spray it with non-stick. Meanwhile take fist size amounts of your mixer and roll them into balls.
To bake, place them in the center of the circled plates and then close the lid and bake for 7-10 minutes. You want to make sure the cakes are crispy around the edges before pulling them out of the maker.
Using a silicone spatula carefully remove them from the maker. Allow them to cool down to room temperature before enjoying!
We would love to hear what your favorite after school snack to prepare in your Arepa Maker is.
